2. What are “cookies”?

  1. Cookies are small text files stored by your browser on your hard drive. They enable the identification of the user’s device and ensure the webpage functions correctly in accordance with the user’s individual preferences. This improves the website’s functionality. For example, cookies can save your password for a session so that you do not have to enter it every time. Cookies typically contain the name of the website, the storage duration on the device, and a unique code. In certain cases, cookies also allow for the personal identification of users.
  2. A cookie consists of two parts: the name and the content or value of the cookie. Cookies ensure a pleasant browsing experience for the user and support Tavex’s efforts to provide convenient services, such as online privacy preferences, the shopping cart, or relevant advertising. Cookies are used to compile aggregated, anonymous statistics that help us understand how users interact with our website, enabling us to improve its structure and content.
  3. Cookies are installed via a request sent by a web server to a browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc.). Once installed, cookies have a set lifespan and remain “passive”—meaning they do not contain software programs, viruses, or spyware, and do not access information on the user’s device where they have been installed.

3. How do we use „cookies”?

  1. Cookies are used to tailor the website’s content to user preferences and to optimize its usage. They are used to generate anonymous statistics (regarding user behavior on the site) with the aim of improving the site’s structure, design, interface, and content.

4. What types of „cookies“ do we use?

  1. Tavex uses the following types of cookies, based on their duration:
    1. “Session cookies”, which are temporary and are usually deleted by your device when you leave the relevant web page, close your browser or turn off your device; and
    2. “Persistent cookies”, which are stored on your device for a period of time specified in the cookie parameters—potentially exceeding one year—until they are manually deleted. These cookies can be used again the next time you visit the site.
  2. From the perspective of the operator placing cookies, there are:
    1. first party cookies – placed by the owner of the visited website;
    2. third party cookies (cookies plasate de terți) – placed by the operator of a site other than the one being visited. These third parties must also comply with applicable law and the privacy policies of the owner of the site where they place cookies.
  3. Based on the purposes for which cookies are placed, the following categories generally exist: strictly necessary cookies; measurement cookies; cookies for analysis and website performance improvement; and promotional cookies (targeting and advertising).
    1. Tavex may allow the use of third-party cookies. Such cookies are associated with software products that record anonymous statistical data about the user (Google Analytics, Matomo, Google Ads, Meta Ads, etc.).
    2. Alternatively, third-party cookies may be associated with “social” buttons or plugins that enable page sharing and interaction with social networks. For these tools to function, social networks (such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) may place cookies via the website; these cookies may interact with the user’s anonymous profile on the network or add data to information collected in a manner or for purposes described in the respective policies of the social networks and the website.
    3. Certain videos displayed on our web pages but provided by third parties (e.g., YouTube) may use cookies to collect anonymous information, such as how the user arrived at the video, which other videos they have watched, etc.
    4. Tavex has no access to or control over cookies used and provided by third parties. This Cookie Policy does not cover the manner in which a specific third party collects and processes such information. It is in your best interest to familiarize yourself with these third-party policies in order to understand their practices and conduct.
    5. Personal data collected via cookies may only be used to implement specific user-related functions on the site. Personal data is encrypted to prevent unauthorized access and to ensure the anonymity of the user visiting the site.

5. How can you control and/or delete cookies??

  1. You can modify your cookie preferences using the Cookie Policy page. You can delete all cookies already stored on your device and configure most browsers to block them entirely. However, doing so may require you to manually adjust certain settings each time you visit a site, and some services and features might not function correctly. Unfortunately, in most cases, there is no universal option to disable cookies without restricting the functionality they add to the site.
